Summer Football Camp
Queen Ethelburga’s Football Camp offers aspiring young players aged 13–17 an exciting opportunity to develop their skills, understanding and confidence in a professional sporting environment.
Set within Queen Ethelburga’s outstanding sporting facilities, the 5-day programme combines expert coaching, intensive on-pitch training and competitive match play. Students will develop their technical ability, tactical awareness, decision-making, teamwork and overall performance through a varied and engaging programme.
Students will also have the opportunity to learn from professional guest coaches and football industry specialists, who will join the camp throughout the week to share their experience, knowledge and insights from the game.
Off the pitch, classroom sessions complement the practical training, exploring areas such as football strategy, performance, leadership and player development. Students gain a broader understanding of what it takes to perform effectively both individually and as part of a team.
The camp is designed for students who are passionate about football and keen to take their game to the next level. Whether they are looking to improve specific aspects of their performance, build confidence or simply experience a week of focused football training, students will benefit from coaching in a supportive and inspiring environment.
Students should already play for a football team and have a genuine enthusiasm for developing their game.

Matt DerbyshireFootball Coach - Development & Performance “After recently retiring from a 22-year professional football career, I got a taste for coaching after being appointed interim coach of Bradford City. I have also coached at Blackburn Rovers Academy. I hope to bring all my playing, coaching and mentorship skills to the students, as well as helping them to develop both as people and players.” |
